The LAMBDA line are three dimensional measuring machines with independent pillars. The models belonging to this family are medium-large and large sized machines.
The family includes series of models, characterized by increasing transverse sections and longitudinal strokes, in order to cover a wide range of dimensional and functional requirements.
The models in this family (LAMBDA) have a very solid structure, with high rigidity allowing them to perform light machining operations such as:
milling on soft materials and marking-out, besides measuring.
All the LAMBDA models are provided with air bearings for moving part sliding along all axes.
The movement along each axis is controlled by means of D.C. Servo motors and activated by means of pinion-rack drive with automatic
antibacklash. Due to the considerable size of these machines the Dual Drive solution is adopted on x-Axis to prevent the yawing of the main
carriage during the motion.
Motion can be controlled manually (through LEVBOX) or automatically (by CNC, with direction parameters and speed supplied by
part-program).
A transducer system, composed by optical tape scales and readers survey motion along the axes.
A pneumatic counterweight with fine adjustment balances the weight of the ram, as well as of probes and tools mounted on the measuring head
(adjust according to the variation of the weight to balance).
Emergency and stand-by brakes are installed on the axis subjected to gravity. All axes are equipped with emergency electrical end-of-strokes or
with mechanical buffers to limit the strokes.
The LAMBDA machines can be configured with control and data handling units of different capabilities in order to solve any application problem.
The basic structure of this family has the following characteristics which are common to all DEA machines: three dimensional measuring
machine with coordinate axes, vertical spindle and probe to determine the points to pick-up.
The moving elements of the measuring machine can execute independent movements in the direction of the three reference axes: X, Y, Z
The movement in X-Axis direction (main horizontal direction) is performed by the "Main Carriage" or traverse, displacing on the slideways of the
beams.
The movement in the Y-Axis direction (secondary horizontal direction) is performed by a "Secondary Carriage" named "Central Carriage",
sliding on the main carriage.
The movement in the Z-Axis direction is performed by a ram named "Spindle", sliding on the central carriage.
The wideth of the possible movements in the X, Y, Z Axis directions defines the machine strokes.
The measuring machine can operate in the whole measuring volume defined by the strokes along the three axes.
